Today we decided to put away all the summer stuff. That included the camping gear. We were only able to go camping once this year due to the extreme heat as well as the never ending dental problems. We even bought a new tent the end of June because we quickly realized on our first camping trip that our tent was way too small and if we wanted to bring the dog it would be close to impossible. We have never used our new tent. We had plans on going in July, but it was too darn hot. Things kept getting in the way and when we would think about going I would have a dental appointment right before that weekend. It just never seemed to work out.
So we put away all our camping gear safely under the house. We thought it would be next year before we would see it again.
At 5pm we watched the news and it appears we are in a heat wave. Today's high was 94 (a new record) and tomorrow and Tuesday will be well in the mid 90's. They showed the weather for next weekend and it's suppose to be in the 80's. No rain and the temps are perfect. I casually said to Laura, "you know we could go camping." She suddenly got all excited and said, "we could". We checked online and a site we had picked out when we went in May was available. We got crazy and booked it for next weekend.
So this evening we will be taking the camping stuff back out from under the house and getting ready for our camping trip.
Who would have ever guessed we would be camping in October?

Camping?? LOL here in Michigan, we have turned the heat on and I asked Nathalie to get the extra blankets out! Have fun camping!

It probably will get a little chilly at night! Stoke the fire good right before going to bed and take a couple of extra blankets.

October is my favorite time of year for camping. But this year, with the vote in Nov. and my consulting work, we've not been able to take advantage of good weather.
