Quote of the Week

Don't you hate it when you remember the wine, but forget the glasses. We were forced to drink our wine last night out of the very lovely plastic cups provided by the hotel.

After a few drinks Susan looked at me and said:

"I better drink my wine so it doesn't spill."

I reassured her that her plastic glass of wine was not going to spill by simply sitting on the table.

We are having a wonderful time. Susan is off to her training this afternoon and then tomorrow I am reluctantly heading back to Kansas City. I am wishing now that I had asked off for a couple more days.

I have received several TXT messages from L who is taking care of Sophie. Apparently L's dog is completely in love with Sophie and is kind of upset that Sophie did not reciprocate. I was also informed that Sophie likes to watch Football and the Sophie that does not like to cuddle was sleeping with L and her husband last night. I guess we are all on vacation.

Hrmm. I once forgot the cork screw while staying at a 'less than nice' hotel with my first girlfriend. We had to use a coat hanger to get the wine opened. Of course, little sprinkles of cork were floating in our CUPS.

Yes. That too.

*sigh*

When I have wine before bed, I always finish it before I set the glass on the nightstand. I, too, do not want it to spill. But then, I have small children who like to wake us up by playing with all the crap on the nightstand. However, I think I am OCD enough that I would still want the glass empty even if the kids weren't there. :)

I'm chuckling at you and Deb both! Been there, done that!

When I was traveling after Glenn's death, I always had wine with me, so I bought a corkscrew, a bottle sealer, and some cheap glasses. If I couldn't safely fit the glass or glasses in when I left any destination, I simply left them with my hosts and bought one or two more at my next stop.

sounds like you and Sohpie are one woman, uh, girls!!

Glad the vacay is going well. I'm sure your boss would have given you more time off. Watch out, Sophie might adopt a new family.
