Sunday Surprise

They were calling for a little bit of snow, but when I woke up at 6am I knew we were going to get more then just a dusting. I went to let Sophie out and it was snowing and I swear the snowflakes were the biggest I have ever seen. Because I am a freak, I was thrilled and couldn't get back to sleep. As you can see, I am not the only person that is so excited about this snow we are getting:

Around 9am I decided to start taking some pictures, but wouldn't you know it my battery was dead in my camera. So, I got in the car to run up to the drug store and was shocked at the streets. They are horrible. And you know if I think they are bad, then they are really bad. There is a small hill to get out of my neighborhood and I really thought I wasn't going to make it. But my trusty Honda did just fine; we were just a little bit slower today.
The airport is closed and they are calling for at least 6 inches of snow. It's windy and we are expecting white out conditions. It's a wet snow, which means it's sticking to everything and making the roads horrible. I think I am in for the day. Good thing I rented 3 movies yesterday and didn't watch any of them. It's looking like a movie kind of day.

As you can see, Sophie is the perfect subject to take pictures of when it's snowing. She normally hates me taking her picture, but when she is distracted with the snow, she's an angel.

Have a great day everyone. This is the perfect Sunday....EVER.

How beautiful!! I am jealous. All our snow melted today and our yard is a swamp with standing water.

I gave you an award over at my blog.

"wet snow"? Is there sucha thing as "dry snow"? I'm asking seriously because all we ever get is wet snow that makes it impossible to go anywhere. The ground feezes, the wet snow falls and then freezes and well...it's a winter wonderland and everyone stays home.

I guess I never thought about there being different types of snow before. Interesting.

It's beautiful! And I am so jealous. Enjoy it!

YAY - SNOW!!! I bet you had a great day. That wet snow is so much fun for playing in and building things. It is also back breaking for shoveling!

Sounds like the perfect day to stay in and watch movies!

It was snowing here this morning, wonder if it will make it your way later today?

Beautiful and you enjoy the snow honey! I had to cancel my snow tubing trip next week-end so i've given up hope of seeing any decent snow this winter. Oh well, there's always next year I hope!

casey--sometimes we get snow that is very light and just blows around...you can't make snowmen or snowballs...

sonya--we aren't suppose to get any more snow until later this week and they are saying that it will probably be more freezing rain then snow...yuck

patti--i don't know how you go through all of winter without seeing snow...i hope you will get to see some next year
