My last weekend officially employed was very laid back. Yesterday Laura wasn't feeling too well so we literally sat around the house all day and watched old movies. We watched "Thelma and Louise" and "A Few Good Men". And just like I predicted the Chiefs did horrible. I am not a football player, but I think I could have done better then they did. What's up with not getting a first down until the end of the 3rd quarter?
Laura was happy because her beloved Tennessee Vols beat UConn. I think their win made her sinus headache feel a little better. I was worried that Tennessee was not going to win and then I knew it was going to be kind of rough around here. When Tennessee looses it's never a good thing in our house.
Today we went to the gym and I had another good workout. Then when we got home I decided to tackle the spare bedroom. I had been planning on doing this my first week off, but today seemed like a good day. I didn't have enough to eat before going to the gym and then coming home and trying to tackle the bedroom was not a good thing. It took us about an hour and half, but the room is finally in good shape and actually looks like a bedroom and not a storage room for our Christmas stuff. But I was wiped out. After some lunch I decided it was time for my usual Sunday nap. After 2 1/2 hours I decided it would probably be best to get up otherwise I probably won't be sleeping tonight.
This is what I learned this weekend: 1)Always trust Laura when she says I haven't had enough to eat before going to the gym 2)Sometimes the best Saturday is just watching old movies from the 80's and 90's. 3)My Sunday naps are still the best way to improve my mood.
This time next week everyday will be my weekend. I simply can't wait. Have a good week everyone.

I don't know about you having a weekend every day! What is funny is the first time you can't remember the day of the week. Ahhhhhh. I hope you enjoy this time and find it calming in your life. Good luck to you both on this segment of your lives.
And Laura even got to see a dunk by Candace Parker to boot! That kid is quite the player. I used to think we were tough "back in my day" at UT, but this kid is awesome.
We spent a good chunk of our weekend in front of the tube too. Have you ever seen the movie "Possession" with Gwenyth Paltrow? Good flick actually and it's not about what the title may imply.

A whole flock of KC Jayhawks came in Cracker Barrel last night and I thought of you.
